There are some weeks at a stretch where it feels as though we spend 80 percent of our time on Instagram. Lately, though, we’ve been getting a little better with our screen time, and searching for quality over quantity.
We’re changing our algorithm one like at a time with the voices that make our day a better place. Those that inspires us, that reassure us that push us to keep going even when all we feel like is a day nap.
In celebration of International Women’s Day, here are a few of the many women absolutely owning Instagram as a platform to preach good vibes.

Are you thinking what I’m thinking?

Mari (“rhymes with starry”) Andrews is a writer, artist and speaker who calls NY home. She just about owns Instagram and not doubt you’ve seen her work regrammed plus she’s the woman behind the pictures for Zoë Foster Blake’s kick-arse project @breakupboss. Her illustrations are, to quote @breakupboss, ““witty, brilliant, original, adorable, omg-that-is-so-TRUE/ME”.

Everyday you’re hustling

Side Project sessions, the baby of @extraordinary_routines’ Madeleine Dore, is a god send for anyone in need of a pep talk / predilection for day napping. “Peer pressured productivity” is our go-to for the 3pm slump, for writer’s block and for all-round inspiration. Also brilliant for anyone who works from home. A daily reminder that you’re far from alone in the day-to-day of building your empire.

Mum life and so much more

Speaking of Foster Blake, she too makes the list. The former beauty ed turned author turned skincare empire oversee-er is a Mum of two with a real knack for social media captions. They’re real, they’re comforting and 99.75 percent of the time, they will make you laugh. Case in point, her Valentine’s Day post:
“I so clearly remember in Year 7 and 8 on Valentine’s day when you’d get to school and find out if someone had pre-purchased a single red rose in cellophane wrapping to give to you. It would flavour the day, your reputation and your self-worth: You were loved and popular, or you were AN INVISIBLE NOTHING THAT NO ONE WANTED TO PASH. There were no grey areas. Of course, us wily ladies quickly hijacked the system and bought dozens of roses for each other (the seeds of Galentines being sown) so no one felt left out, and the tyrannical power of those roses was quickly diminished. (A shame for anyone nursing a genuine crush who courageously gave a rose in a moment of annual romantic bravery...) Anyway. That was like, five years ago so who cares. Happy love day to you all. Here’s to the kindness and love we give ourselves, and others. Love on!”
Plus: she made her whole family dress up like the cast of Seinfeld just because (giving us all a reason to have children, no?).

Keeping it real
Following: @celestebarber
“When you’re flat out trying to keep the world interested in your talent.”
And, again: one woman who makes just about every ‘follow her’ list of ours is the indefatigable “actor, writer, comedian lady” Celeste Barber. She is, to quote her own bio, “a bloody big deal online”. Her long-running effort #celestechallengeaccepted began in 2015 as “a fun experiment to see what it would look like for an average person to photograph herself doing rich people things”. Move over Kourtney, Celeste is here.

Make Instagram great again
Following: @commentsbychrissyteigen
Chrissy Teigen is pretty terrific. She’s the model, author and mum “making America great again”. She also cooks really delicious things and asks KFC to recreate a chicken recipe for many moons ago. We have told you about this account like a trillion times before but still: it’s just about the funniest thing on Instagram. Plus, it’s a real time saver. The two kind girls who run this account read all of Teigen's feeds and serve us the cream of the crop. For the win.
