Rome, Italy
Easter is when Italy’s capital really shines. There are fewer tourists than in the busy months, beautiful churches, the Spanish Steps are decorated with flowers and the pasta and red wine are flowing. To get the real experience, elbow yourself a place on Easter Sunday to watch the Pope give his blessing, then stop by the Colosseum before hitting up the overflowing bars and cafes in the evening.
