3 Wardrobe-Essentials We Need This Season

Add. To. Cart.

If you, like us, went deep on the recent jigsaw puzzle trend, you'll know the unique frustration that comes with having a missing piece. You look everywhere, rearrange the room in search of it but, almost always, it's a case of no dice.

Same same for your wardrobe. Everything (almost) comes together. But sometimes it feels like you're missing one, crucial thing. But what?

We checked in with our Head Of Style Menswear, Danielle Soglimbene, in the hope of uncovering the three missing pieces that will pull our wardrobes together.

To make sure your pieces of choice see you through the seasons to come (bringing that cost per wear way down), "make sure you're thinking about a core rotation item," she tells us. "On that you'll wear again and again. When shopping for staples, you're not looking for anything trend-driven."

So, what's on the Wishlist?

First up, a plain white sneaker

"I love these ones by Double Oak Mills," says Soglimbene. "Your sneakers don't need to cost the earth – they just need to look clean. A plain white sneaker is very versatile – it can be dressed up with a nice pair of chinos or dressed down with a pair of tapered tracksuit pants."

Next, a basic hoodie

"Hoodies are the go-to for winter," says Soglimbene. "they are comfortable yet stylish. Keep it understated and go for one that's a plain-look, with no branding or logos – love this one by Academy Brand. And, when the sun goes down, layer one of your favourite jackets, trenches or bombers over the top and you have the perfect layered look."

And finally, the wear-everywhere bomber jacket.

Soglimbene's pick? A black bomber jacket. "A black bomber is an absolute must," she tells us. "Love this one by Staple Superior. You can wear with jeans, a simple white tee with some boots for an evening out, or you can dress it down. Think an extra layer for your trackies! My tip? Go up a size for winter so you are able to comfortably create these layered looks without feeling restricted."
