For creative mumma of two, @_dimity_ , craft is how she unwinds – a practice she loves to share with her kids. Here she shows us two fun activities you can do by yourself or with the family and keep them entertained for hours. Press play to see her walking us through, step by step, how to make a magnetic fishing game, which you can use to help your little ones to count, name colours and achieve challenges with your very own sea creatures, and then create your own take on mini ‘worry dolls’.
Originating in Guatemala and found in Mexico, worry dolls were traditionally made in the image of Mayan goddess, Ixmucane. It’s said that she can cure any human concern. The idea is that before you go to sleep, you tell your worries to the dolls and put them in their box and, hopefully, sleep peacefully. Sounds good, huh – do they come in adult size?
So what are you waiting for, let’s get crafty!
Don’t forget to show us how you got on @THEICONICKids !
