It was a year of polarising style, from bum bags to bike shorts, but these were the trends that everyone was into...
This year we loved linen
Lightweight, breathable and oh-so-cool, it’s no wonder we didn’t want to live in anything else. Thanks to this natural fibre, we welcomed an earthy palette into our wardrobe and became more relaxed with our silhouettes – we were in constant holiday mode with linen.

Our shoe collection started looking more and more like our dad’s
It was the year of the chunky sneaker and our feet couldn’t be happier. We indulged our soles with dad sneakers, which replaced most of our footwear favourites including stilettos – yes, even our designer dresses were pared back with the biggest and bulkiest of rubber kicks.
Sleepwear styles became our staple
We brought bedroom-only slip dresses, tops and skirts into our everyday wardrobe. Our irrational fear of satin faded and we became obsessed with bias-cut designs made from slinky silk fabrics in every colour and print. They were the sartorial answer to everything and we styled it a million different ways.
We kept our horoscopes close to our hearts
Adding to the stack of chains around our neck, star sign charms shone the brightest this year. With more than a handful of accessory labels dipping into the trend, it wasn’t easy trying to choose which style one to rep.
